A unique training for Grief Companion Training students & graduates to intimately explore the grief that comes with aging
within a supportive community of care.
Friday, October 23 from 1:00-5:00 pm E.T. on Zoom
The training session will be recorded if you cannot attend.
The Landscape of Later Life
In aging populations, grief is unique because it is compounded, multiplied by numerous losses (primary and secondary, death and non-death), which have the potential to create debilitating grief. Chronic loss, too much loss, is present daily. This can lead our beloved elders down the road of isolation, depression, anxiety, health challenges and more.
It is a gift and honor to companion elders through this potentially perilous passage, one society doesn't pay enough attention to nor provide adequate support for. With wizened hearts, grief education, and compassionate care, as Grief Companions we can point our elders toward the shores of comfort, relief, insight and meaning.

Featuring a Panel Discussion with Seasoned Grief Companions
We have invited 4 gifted "Grief Navigators" to share their views and experiences with companioning elders. Each presenter will have dedicated time to respond to previously submitted questions pivotal to our understanding of how we can skillfully companion elders. They will share how they have chosen to uniquely support and guide elders; and what they have learned from these experiences, including what elders need from Grief Companions.
Panel members: David Gormong, Jean Wise, Elizabeth Ritz, Joanie Spain.
